A woman claims her partner cracked his tooth on a sewing needle found in garlic bread bought from a Woolworths store in Perth.

Janelle reached out to PerthNow after a lack of action from Woolworths and Goodman Fielder — the manufacturer of the La Famiglia brand garlic bread.

Janelle said she purchased the product two weeks ago from Woolworths at the Stirling Central shopping centre in Westminster in Perth’s north.

“So this was found in our garlic bread from Woolworths Stirling Central over two weeks ago,” she said.

To make matters worse, it appears the couple only noticed the 4cm needle after the bread was cooked.

Images show the needle clearly sticking out of the bread.

“Nothing has been done — no recall, no call back, no nothing,” Janelle continued.

“My partner bit down on this and cracked his tooth, not to mention this could kill someone if they swallowed it.”

Janelle said Goodman Fielder offered her a $10 Woolworths voucher as compensation.

“Do you think a $10 Woolworths voucher is valid at the dentist? That’s what the company that makes the garlic bread thinks,” she said.

“I have not wanted to go this far because I thought, ‘Heck, surely the company will take this seriously’, but nothing has still been done.

“Absolutely shocking customer service by Goodman Fielder.”
